Following up one of 2004's brightest, breeziest singles was never going to be easy, but the men with the Golden Touch turn in a sequel that looks like repeating the radio friendly success of their previous hit. Given their live success at festivals it looks like they're going to be with us for some time.
Vice is not as poppy, and certainly not as immediately catchy, but it captures the essence of a band at home with their current sound. It's certainly nothing new – a guitar laden chorus with anthemic vocals – and frontman Johnny Borrell seems to have an uncanny resemblance to Cud singer Carl Puttnam in this track (remember them?)
Whatever, it should convince doubters that debut album Up All Night does not contain a one hit wonder and twelve other duds – so in this respect, a qualified success.
