Some people write songs about broken hearts, other make posthumous eulogies for parents and the occasional few pen a quick ditty to get back at an ex (Maroon 5, we're looking in your general direction here) - but a track about being teased for not liking RnB and hip hop has got to be a first.
Apparently preferring not to bump and grind with the rest of them is a bit of a stigma down in certain parts of southwest London, at least in the eyes of young Remi Nicole. Having spent years secretly listening to indie behind closed doors she's chosen to be loud and proud about it in one of the catchiest tracks we've heard in a long time.
Sounding something like Kate Nash with an Amy Winehouse twist she's definitely got a nose for what the record-buying public wants at the moment. You might not get it on the first listen, but by the second it becomes an inescapable toe-tapping, chair-dance inducing party anthem.
It's perfect Radio 1, Radio 2 and pretty much Radio everywhere else as well and, with the release of a debut album looming on the horizon, you're going to be hearing an awful lot more of this one.
