You could almost hear the A&R men logging onto MySpace last year as soon as Lily Allen broke big. Every record company seemed to seek out a feisty London girl, with summery pop tunes and a sharp lyrical tone.

Remi Nicole is probably destined to be described Island's very own mini-Lily - which possibly won't do her too many favours in the long run. The similarities are obvious though, from Nicole's London accented singing voice, to the summery vibe of the melody, it's impossible not to think of that other LDN figure.

All comparisons aside however, Fed Up is a pleasant enough acoustic strum while B-side Go With The Flow is a more upbeat, autobiographical number which can't fail to charm. Whether there's enough here to distinguish her from contemporaries such as Kate Nash and Laura Marling is debatable though - only time will tell, I guess. For now, this is a promising debut.
