Only the second single from the Sheffield-steeped album of the same name, Coles Corner seems to have taken its time in appearing. But as anyone who hasn't yet been soothed by Richard Hawley's velvety-rich baritone won't know, this is not music to rush by.
Hawleyites already in possession of the album will need little encouragement to snap this up, but there's an added incentive in the B-side, an instrumental called I Am Absolutely Hank Marvin which features the lovely touch of... well, Hank Marvin of The Shadows.
One of Hawley's heroes, Marvin plays the piece as though it was one of his own. It's almost as if he's never been away and as reasons to buy singles go, they don't come much more convincing than this.
