Behind a cute little title lies a cute little pop tune from newcomer Richard Swift, dripping with whimsical sensibilities. With recent band break-ups leaving a Beautiful South-sized hole in the market he could be just what the music scene needs in between singles from The Feeling and the odd festival appearance by The Lightning Seeds to keep the pop kids all smiling and nodding their heads with a cheery grin on their faces.
It's hummable, foot-tappable and the only bad word to say about it is that the production seems a tad on the muddy side. This is a shame as it's the kind of shiny pop tune that deserves a crystal clear delivery. The fact that its infectiousness is getting through regardless is no doubt a point or two in its favour.
Kisses For The Misses is taken from Swift's forthcoming debut album Dressed Up For The Let Down and if this is anything to go by, it'll be anything but. Catch him on tour throughout March and see if you're not still singing along, tapping your foot and nodding your head when you get home.
