Ricky Martin - I Don't Care

The man who lived 'la vida loca' was pretty much inescapable a few years ago, and then promptly disappeared. I Don't Care is his first single for over two years and is a bit different to the cheesy pop you may expect.

For Martin has undergone something of an image change - gone is the perma-grinning, perma-tanned clean cut Ricky, and in his place is a moody, bestubbled, tattooed evolution. The music is a bit darker as well, combining a Latin backbeat with a soul/hip-hop atmosphere that works surprisingly well.

The presence of rapper Fat Joe and the vocals of classy R&B diva Amerie also help make I Don't Care a superior slice of poppy dance music. He's never going to be particularly hip, but this should introduce him to a new audience who may have otherwise ignored him.
