The Rogers Sisters are indeed sisters (no Thompson Twins style fraud here...), consisting of Brooklyn siblings Jennifer and Laura Rogers, together with singing bassist Miyuki Furtado. In common with most other bands from New York, they are just quite impossibly cool.

Emotion Control is an energetic bouncy little number consisting of an effective duet between Furtado and Jennifer while Laura smacks the hell out of her drums. It's like the Von Bondies covering The B-52s and is, in a word, brillant.

The back-up track, The Conversation, is more punky and raw, sounding like The Subways' more dangerous cousins while blasting out guitar riffs that Keith Richards would kill for. Check them out now for The Rogers Sisters will become the hip name to drop during 2006.
