Joining the latest influx of guitar-wielding singer-songwriters from the USA, Mr Copperman is certainly easy on the eye, if not necessarily on the ears. Although sounding something like a cross between Coldplay and early Radiohead is a good, if somewhat dated, start.
Any American readers will be more than familiar with this track as CBS has been using it as a promo ad nauseam recently. For the rest of you it sounds like, well, a song that a TV station would use over and over again for a promo. It's certainly well-written and performed, but it does seem to lack that extra oomph that we've all come to expect in the four or so years since records like this were topping the charts.
That being said, it's listenable and it's predecessor did extremely well in the download charts so who knows. Although his PR should realise that describing someone as having the charisma of Robbie Williams is not necessarily a selling point in the UK at the moment. There's an album and a small-scale tour in the offing, so probably one to watch rather than buy at the moment.
