Rufus Wainwright's last album, Want One, was one of the biggest treats of last year. At times impossibly moving, at others borderline ludicrious (Wainwright even donned a suit of armour for the front cover), it was a swooning, lush masterpiece.
Now it turns out that there were enough songs from the Want One sessions to produce a follow up, suitably entitled Want Two, and this is the first, download-only, taster from it. While probably his most radio-friendly melody yet it boasts some unabashedly carnal lyrics ("let's f*ck this awful art party, I want you to make love to me and only me in the dark").
Although the full glory of Rufus Wainwright may not to be everyone's taste, it would be a hard heart indeed that could fail to be melted by The One I Love.
