Ok, it's tough to know in which direction to hurl criticism when it comes to 'bands' like The Saturdays. They're just pretty girls who don't know any better and want to be pop-stars, prepared to do whatever they're told to achieve their ambitions.
The producers that actually write these songs, however, they should know better, and frankly, the verse to Up sounds disturbingly like someone's pressed the ‘demo' button on a keyboard. Just because you're not in school anymore doesn't make it okay, okay? The result makes them sound like Liberty X's crap younger sister.
Elsewhere expect the standard pop formulas such as lyrics that don't really make any sense, verse-chorus-verse-chorus (add infinitum) song structure, and some actually quite nice vocal melodies. But is that a shitload of auto-tune, or a dazzling vocal effect? It's up to you to find out, but the eyes of the betting man in me have turned to dollar signs, and he's telling me the former is a dead cert.
