If we must have a euro-novelty song for the summer, my vote goes to Thing by Seeed, a multi-layered, somewhat manic collaboration between the Berlin-based 11-piece dancehall act, and France's Saian Supa Crew.
It's just a joyous piece of fun. With rhymes switching between MCs Pierre Baigorry, Frank Delle and Demba Nabe in English, French and patois, heavily influenced by Jamaican toasting, Thing is a delirious mix of imperatives, snapped off ideas and crazy sound effects.
It's designed to get everyone bouncing, with great hooks but enough depth to keep you interested after the first few listens.
