It would be a cheap and easy shot to take a swipe at Shaggy for calling this Ultimatum. Unfortunately, this writer is far too lowbrow to do anything less. Being kind, it's joyously ironic: Shaggy's girl is fed up with his bed-hopping, lazy rhyming antics, as are the vast majority of people with ears.

Having not learned his lesson after being caught "on the bathroom floor"; The Shagster is up to mischief again. This time he pleads: "Take into consideration / it was sexual frustration," which might account for his desire to play away but not for this bland generic R&B drivel.

The only redeeming factor that Shaggy ever had was that his songs were mildly amusing. I mean, he must have been chuckling through Mr Bombastic, safe in the knowledge that there is always someone who will buy an annoying tune and make you rich. Now though, he's gone all serious on the cover and seems to be actually looking for a credible place in the overcrowded commercial chart market. Shaggy's girl wants him to stay at home or go forever - let's hope she makes the right choice for all our sakes.
