This debut single from the Portland Oregon 5-piece, sounding rather like a long-lost piece of vintage Britpop that's been given a wash and brush-up, is a prelude to their forthcoming and eponymous debut album.
It's a jangly, refreshingly uncomplicated and invasively catchy and self-consident little number, and there's almost an air of early REM to it and distinct whiffs of The Byrds and The Kinks as well perhaps.
Vocalist Delffs has a charismatic and identifiable voice that has all the makings of a real crowd pleaser with its cheeky overtones and slightly scrappy edge to it. He hasn't been hit with the ugly stick either, which will certainly make it easier for them.
They've already toured with The Shins in the US and dates for the UK will be announced fairly shortly, so expect to here more of this lot. It'll be a slow build rather than an explosion out of nowhere, but it'll be worth the wait.
