You may remember Shelly Poole as half of sisterly duo Alisha's Attic who had some minor hits in the mid '90s before disappearing. Poole's solo material is in the same, gentle folky pop mode as her former group's material - which is to say, it's sadly unmemorable.
Lost In You is a perfectly pretty ballad which shows off Poole's whispy vocals nicely, but there's a huge influx of polite female singer/songwriters around right now, and Poole brings absolutely nothing new to the party. The melody is almost too lightweight to stand up to repeated listens, the sheer lack of anything substantial inducing a weary feeling of ennui upon the listener.
The B-side Love Will You Be Mine is a bit more successful, moving as it does away from the Dido-lite atmosphere of Lost In You, but there's still not much more that sticks in the memory. If you're after more identikit, polite, middle of the road adult pop, then step this way by all means.
