Absolutely, depressingly, overwhelmingly, ordinary.

There's no other way to sum up Shitdisco's new single, taken from their first album Kingdom of Fear. You couldn't even say that this is a band over-reaching their ability and being punished for their ambition. If this is Shitdisco setting their sights for the stars, they need a refund on their GPS.

Everything about Ok! screams b-side: the phoned-in-from-the-chip-shop vocals, the fashionably off-the-beat guitars, the chorus that thinks its a verse. It's the sound of transatlantic post-punk 30 years ago, and while there are any number of great bands currently mining this seam of music to great effect (!!!, LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture), Shitdisco bring absolutely nothing new to the party.

Someone needs to give this band a slap and remind them that good singles aren't essays and merely referencing your heroes just isn't enough.
