If you haven't yet heard of The Slides, they are a four-piece from London made up of guitar, bass, hammond and drums. Slow Bullet is the first single off the forthcoming mini-album of the same name.
Slow Bullet is immediately and irresistibly rhythmic. The bouncy drums are mirrored by subtle basslines and joined by choppy guitar thrashes. Added to that is a hammond that dances a care-free dance, loosely weaving in and out of the tight surroundings.
Vocalist Rod Da Rosa is blessed with a beautiful, enchanting voice that lazily laments over the charismatic backdrop. The interesting chords, the way The Slides build the song, the way they make it sound so effortless; Slow Bullet is an unpretentious delight that unearths a cheeky swagger to The Slides that is shuffling towards far bigger things.
