The second single from the "newly famous" Northern Irish-via-Scotland foursome was set to be a make or break task after their Top 3 hit Run, which circled on repeat on every radio station. Whereas most assume that Snow Patrol recently formed a band, wrote a song and are now set to achieve worldwide recognition, they were actually brought into life in 1994 and Final Straw is, in fact, their third album.

Chocolate will always be seen as just a follow-up to Run, rather than a single in its own right, merely due to the success that its predecessor experienced. Yet it should not be disregarded so quickly. Lyrically, it's passionate and unashamedly naked - "You're the only thing that I love, scares me more everyday," as one lyric puts it.

Reminiscent of Elbow, Doves and all those Brit Indie bands that stemmed from great acts such as The Jam, it's nothing out of the ordinary but is definitely worth a listen if the sound of "Light up! Light up!" has begun to annoy you. A fantastic follow up that could have so easily gone wrong but according to increased sales of Final Straw, obviously hasn't.
