Just as we were thinking that the Knowles family hadn't had enough publicity this summer, after Beyonce's hubby Jay Z took over Glastonbury a couple of months ago, now here comes little sister's Solange's first single from her upcoming debut album.
In case there was any doubt at all that Geffen were aiming for a massive, planet-sized hit with Solange, it's co-written with Pharrell Williams (does he ever get a day off?) and features remixes by The Freemasons and The Neptunes. The result is as you'd expect - a big, shiny piece of superior RnB, with Miss Knowles belting out the chorus. The Freemasons' version is the more 'pop' of the two, almost recalling Motown with its big, boisterous sound.
The Neptunes remix is more low-key, but far preferable - the stripped down piano backing allowing Solange's undeniably impressive voice to really flourish. It may not quite have the sass of her sister's finest moment Crazy In Love, but it will certainly keep the credit crunch away from the Knowles' family door for a while.
