Once in a while journalists like to sit down and have a big debate about creativity. When does reusing old material cease being innovative and become about as imaginative as giving someone socks for Christmas? This is the sort of track that starts it off.
The basic premise behind this one is to take a bit of funk (think Jackson 5) and add some disco with a healthy amount of hook-filled beats and then, and this is the supposedly novel part, mix it all in with a few snippets of audio from '70s TV shows.
It's definitely got an addictiveness to it, but it's got too much of a cut and paste air to it to be anything other than a season's novelty. You have to wonder what the next offering is going to be. Our money's on a dance remix of the theme tune from The Love Boat.
