Taken from their self-titled debut album, these Geordies (there are four of them and they formed the band when they were only sixteen, back in 2002) are making waves for themselves in the rock circuit.
Many have made them out to be like The Libertines and The Hives because of the stripped down, back-to-basics rock 'n' roll, but there is more history and depth in their music with a heavy nod to the blues. This is a heavy track with some sturdy framework; it is an exciting and sweat drenched song with a vintage flavour.
The rock explosion that was meant to have happened after the debut album from The Darkness (their success seems to be short-lived judging by the slow ticket sales for their 2006 tour) didn't really occur, and then all the hype seemed to drift off to yonder. Now with plenty of time available, some serious concentration can be placed on bands like The Sound Explosion, who are possibly the best thing to come out of the north east since Newcastle Brown Ale.
