London electronic pop trio South got their first break when UNKLE's James Lavelle was sufficiently impressed with the boys' dreamy, spaced out rock tunes to sign them up to his Mo'Wax label.

Loosen Your Hold is the first cut from their forthcoming second album With The Tides. The lush, acoustic vibe suggests a brighter record than their acclaimed debut, From Here On In. This has to be the first record to combine a string section with a banjo, but the gamble pays off.

On the basis of this offering, which is very much in the Doves mould, "old school friends music" should continue to tighten it's hold on mellow, ambient indie music fans everywhere.
