Spank Rock are a duo from Baltimore comprised of MC Naeem and producer Alex Epton (alias Armani XXXChange). Together they make genre expanding hip-hop heavily influenced by Baltimore House. Sweet Talk is the duo's second commercial single before the release of the forthcoming (inventively titled) debut album, YoYoYoYoYo.

Make no mistake - Sweet Talk is grandiose, squeaky clean hip-hop and sounds like Kanye West meeting up with Basement Jaxx after a few too many jelly tots. The bass is polished and heavy enough to fall through the floor while the beats are air-tight. The guitars are neat and screechy while the backing vocals are weightless. A lively backdrop over which Naeem raps with a punchy energy.

It certainly makes interesting listening. For some it may be a little too congested, but odds are if at first you don't love it then you'll at least be wanting to hear more of Spank Rock's vigorous take on hip-hop.
