If nothing else, Delaware's The Spinto Band have been successful at polarising attitudes. One minute they're the next big thing, their name hot on the lips of trendy indie kids, and the next, they're a bunch of geeks who should know better. I'm confused.
Did I Tell You is the sextets follow up to debut single Direct To Helmet. With gloopy synths, spiky guitar riffery, and intelligent song structure it's an unashamedly proggy skip down the same enchanted lane's that Arcade Fire marched to glory.
With a singer (Nick Crill) who thinks he's David Byrne, The Spinto Band will continue to polarise the people. Yes it is geeky - but why should that be a problem? The Spinto Band have enough skill and originality in their songwriting, and enough charm, to be due some praise.
