So what is an Ultravisitor exactly? Is the Pusher Man is referring to himself? Does this mean that when he calls in to talk turkey about programmin' 'n' stuff with pals Luke Vibert and Mike Paradinas he brings his own chocolate Hob-Nobs? Or, does it mean that the gifted Tom Jenkinson is now so much in demand that he no longer has time to get out much in person? And as such he is beyond plain old visiting as is understood by us mere mortals?

Buggered if I know, so back to the record.

Containing solemn winding synth figures and muted drums, Ultravisitor can be interpreted as a confirmation of what has gone before on the margins on the art-(mad)house end of breakbeat. The single is also the lead track from Squarepusher's new album of the same name. It's a fine taster, if unrepresentative of the freaky discord and reflective excursions to be found on the extended set.
