There's a whiff of early summer about this song from Sheffield-based
Mark Stoney, a man who likes to keep control of his productions, playing, as
he does, everything but the kitchen sink (or in this case the drums!).
Looking to build on the success of previous single Constantly Running,
he douses the chorus with a 60s based euphoria, showing an eye for a good
lyric as he does so. The only questionable moment is a dubious lapse into
an oddly slack ‘mockney' vocal in the second verse.
That aside, Stoney has made an easily memorable tune and looks to be
emerging from his bath water squeaky clean.
