There's something endearing about The Storys and their smooth, '60s West Coast inspired melodics. Perhaps it's their willingness to tell the world that Women's Own think they're "tipped to be this year's hottest new group" on their website. Perhaps it's their very nice taste in t-shirts.

Unlike many recent acts inspired by the Summer of Love, there’s nothing jangly or breezy about I Believe In Love, described as a "live favourite" from their eponymous debut album. Nor is their a post-modern twist. Instead you get prime Burrito Brothers style close harmonies and an orchestral fullness which are just beginning to get boring when the end of the chorus kicks it up a notch and guitar and drums come to the fore to add a little rocky edge to the ending.

It's not new, it's not particularly clever. In fact it's so familiar and cosy that Elton John signed them up as his support act this year. But it's uplifting in a not terribly challenging way that may well prove very commercial. If you've played all your Byrds albums to death, give them a spin.
