Ahhhh.... rubbish mockney fake punk made by a bloke called Stuffy and three people with the surname Fuse. That's what we want after a hard day at work.
Recalling the best bits of My Life Story (and yes, you at the back, there were good bits so please pay attention) overlaid with the kind of shouty girl vocals that everyone from The Pipettes to The Long Blondes should be proud of, it's like a little shot of something nearly as good as heroin.
All this, and it's produced by Steve Albini, so it must be good. Taken from their new album Angels Are Ace, the mad-pop sensibilities on parade here showcase the best tendencies of your average leftfield Wire copyists filtered through a sheen of relief that there's something out there other than Justin Timberlake or Jamelia. No wonder John Peel loved them.
