There's so much going on musically in 2005, it's all getting a bit tiring. Not a week has gone by without a high profile band returning with an album, or a new and exciting group demanding our attention. And this trend is showing no signs of slowing down, if this second single from The Subways is anything to go by.

Rock & Roll Queen picks up exactly where their last single Oh Yeah left off - there's more frantically strummed power chords, more boy-girl vocals, more vicious, Dave Grohl inspired drumming and yet another one of those irresistible hooks.

Despite not being the most inspiring track lyrically ("You are so cool, you are so rock 'n' roll!" won't be winning them any prizes for literature) or the most original musically (the early 90's grunge template of quiet verse/loud chorus is observed to a tee), this remains a damn catchy number that also rocks harder than most bands out there at the moment. It's not cutting edge by any means, but when they sound this good, who cares?
