Does it really take 11 people to write a single for the Sugababes? Well, according to the credits on In The Middle it does, which would explain the polished production and slicker than slick chorus.
There is the definite feeling that we've been here before with the excellent, hooky Hole In The Head, and In The Middle is very much of the same vibe. A low, brassy line gives it a bit of extra edge though, enhancing its suitability for the remix treatment. Cue Ruff & Jam, who supply a biting bass sound for the floor, whilst Hyper's electro breakbeat is a sassy hip-swinger.
Two moody slower tracks, one on each single format, make a crowded package that's sure to appeal to fans, but may be a case of ground revisited for others.
