Rather than being a comment on other aspects of the lovely lasses of Sugababes, let's hope the title refers to this single's ability to earn its place alongside four number ones on the forthcoming Overloaded: The Singles Collection, shall we?
After all, it should be able to. Sugababes have had more top 10 singles than The Spice Girls, and more top 10 hits with original songs than any girl group since The Supremes. They've teamed up with Orson to co-write Easy and the result is exactly the MTV and chart-friendly pop energy you'd expect, with strong beats, sugary vocals and a sing-along chorus that will appeal to 13-year-old girls up and down the country as their dads smile on approvingly.
It's not the best they've turned out and there's none of the edge that lets them flirt with the indie kids when they want to, but all the same they don't need to worry about missing Mutya just yet. Keisha holds the vocals just fine as Easy descends into smug surety that they've got another chart hit just around the corner.
