Supergrass, the cheeky monkeys of Britpop, have worn rather better than most of their contemporaries, and this is a little gem, taken from the forthcoming Life On Other Planets album.

It's the kind of mannered pop song Squeeze used to do so well, but with some retro Moog flourishes and Marc Bolan-esque choruses there's more than a touch of glam in there too.

All this in the service of a kitchen-sink lyric that Mike Leigh could turn into an entire film (or two). In short, a great British pop song and you don't hear too many of those these days.
