Technically Men - Bigman

Technically Men started life as an offshoot of Brighton bigbeat combo the Lo-Fidelity Allstars, but have now taken off to such an extent that their side project could be poised to surpass the success of their alter ego.

There is a huge, mosh-worthy guitar hook and a mighty kick drum which seems to have staggered off a gabba techno track and been sedated, but the main focus of Bigman is its acidic vitriol which comes in the form of an impassioned rant against London music industry types. No names are named, but whoever it is aimed at should hope they never cross paths with frontman Phil Ward and company again.

The full-blooded, un-edited version tells the full story: "I've worked a million stages for minimum wages / just so a dick like you could get laid," and carries on with the fantastic line; "No one formed a posse / to drive you out of town / You're already dead / it's just you forgot to fall down". The ghost of Carter USM can be heard during the spoken word 'verses' and the chorus is reminiscent of Moby's What Love, but Technically Men's sole intention seems to be terrorising the industry that appears to have let them down so badly. Livid, threatening and peppered with spat-out expletives, you would do your best to download this, even if it is just to escape their wrath.
