The Parisian scenesters are back with another slice of electro-tinged Gallic charm. Frontman Quentin Delafon takes us through the relationship minefield of not being in love, but staying with the person anyway, while at all times ensuring that the sentiment remains entirely shallow.
Love No isn't going to have the same impact as last year's cult favourite, Homecoming. They've toned down their swearing and the plotting doesn't have the same appeal, although it still raises a few smiles with references to an unhealthy addiction to the film Showgirls and an appeal to "stop smoking all the time".
It's a decent tune and Delafon's bitchy deadpan delivery works well in the context of their style. They have their own distinctive and unique sound, and while they do seem to be moving forward, the tracks are a bit samey. The album is due out soon, and will demonstrate whether they have the ability to be more than just a novelty act.
