In a world dominated by serrated, jerky guitar noise, Temposhark bounce in with babyish enthusiasm as the proverbial breath of fresh air, all synth squeaks, breathy vocals and dancey beats. Joy introduces itself like early Depeche Mode fronted by a disco bunny.
So instead of Dave Gahan's foreboding baritone we instead have Rob Diament's infectious, singalong lyrics about his mouth being full and something about views from mountains, and black holes. All of which is cause for joy, of course.
Whatever the lyrics are about, it's impossible not to groove to the big phat analogue synth sounds and bounce about like a floopsi on heat. There's a bunny theme here, it seems.
It's a state of affairs intensified by B-side Paris, featuring Princess Julia. Last heard collaborating with Natacha Atlas, her Highness - with the startling contribution of "Ferme le bouche si'l vous plait" - is at her best in The Most remix, a subtle layering of laser bloops and trumpet hooks that sounds like the soundtrack to foreplay.
