Some may consider this a cynical gimmick, but it is immediately apparent that the whole thing works. Spiteri swoons as gracefully as ever over an almost minimalist track, as Offishal adds some sonic immediacy.

The song may disappoint some Texas fans in its comparability with the like of Beyonce and Sean Paul, not to mention various other recent collaborations, but the fact is that Carnival Girl remains an entertaining and interesting prospect.
