Not so much as a single, more a mini album - there's a full seven songs to get stuck into here, and Thee Unstrung will no doubt be lumped in with the likes of The Libertines and The Others.

It would be an easy mistake to make - they do have that certain mod sound to them that is endlessly recycled at the moment. To these ears, though, Thee Unstrung sound as if they've been pulled through a timewarp from about 1993. Opening track Who Runs the Show owes a huge debt to The Jam - all nice dual vocals, punchy breaks and controlled aggression. There's almost a hint of the New Wave of New Wave to it all.

The New Wave of New Wave eventually evolved in to what became known as Britpop, and track three could almost be from the moment we lost interest in These Animal Men and started hankering for Blur. It's is a pretty little acoustic number that goes by the name of Fuck Your Money, obviously.

Elsewhere there are elements of The Kinks (Do Dum De Dum Do), The Beatles, and even the pointed humour of Half Man Half Biscuit (A Masters In Drug Taking). Cleverer and more interesting than a lot of those bands that call busking 'guerrilla gigging'; there are plenty of gems to be found here.
