Another band paying homage to The Libertines without capturing an ounce of what made them so fucking great? Yep, Thee Unstrung is Martin Bashir in the Neverland of music: Seriously unwelcome. But hey, they don't care, right? It's more punk rock that way.
Psycho is a slice of snot-nosed teenage rebellion, if you consider screaming "I HATE YOU!" at your parents before sprinting upstairs, slamming your bedroom door and turning the music up dead loud, rebellious. So basically, rebellious in a really conformist way. The production sounds like I made it; the guitars make what's technically termed a "racket" and the vocals are all shouty sneers and ba-ba-baaa harmonizing.
Oh, it's not Thee Unstrung's fault - I'm sure their hearts are in it, and they're nowhere near the worst in this never-ending line of bands who follow the Pete'n'Carl blueprint - just the latest. It's just plain unlucky that they happen to be the straw breaking the camels back; the letter sending the postman up the tower with the high-powered rifle. So can we just stop now, please?
