These New Puritans have already impressed with their genre-bending debut album Beat Pyramid, so in a sense Swords Of Truth may already be preaching to the converted.

With its jerky back beat and brass that bring forward ska influences, the vocals play second fiddle to the big beats in the single mix, but it's the combination of elements that makes this an exciting and original track. Indeed, it's difficult to pinpoint anybody who sounds like the Puritans at the moment.

B-side instrumental TL3 offers an interesting mix of jarring bass and rolling drums, while the Loving Hand remix of Navigate, Navigate unravels a four to the floor beat and monotone chart that bends its ear in the direction of New York. To complete a more than useful EP line-up is an alternative mix of the title track, ensuring Puritan fans get their fill.
