Thomas Bromley is a 22 year old graduate in music of the West Kent College, specialising in thoughtful, melodic, middle of the road pop that seems custom built to be played on daytime Radio 2. If you think that Mr Bromley doesn't sound particularly exciting, well, that's because he's not.
Let's face it though, we've had enough of Pete Doherty to last us a lifetime, so maybe there's a chance that Bromley could steal our hearts with his clean-cut rock. Danger Ahead is catchy enough, and has a polished production courtsey of Porl Young, fresh from producing Kelly Clarkson. Bromley has an impressive falsetto, and the chorus glides in majestically. Yet it's nothing you won't have heard from a million other like-minded songwriters.
B-side Saine is a rather forgettable piano ballad that makes no discernable impression on the listener whatsoever. And there's the rub with Thomas Bromley - if he's going to be a success he needs to carve out a bit of a niche for himself and write some truly distinctive songs. Until then, that initial impression of dreariness is sadly confirmed by this single.
