Thomas Bromley is a 22 year old singer from Tenterden in Kent who is obviously being lined up to fill that 'next David Gray' hole that James Blunt's been occupying over the last few months.
Standing Strong is his debut single, and it isn't too bad in an 'anthemic ballad' type of way. Bromley's voice is pleasant, if not particularly memorable, and the song itself has a nicely swaying chorus, although in all honesty, it does get a bit dreary towards the end.
If this all sounds like Bromley's being damned with faint praise, the trouble is that there's not too much to get excited about. It's well played and well sung, but there's nothing here to separate Bromley from the rest of the young male singer/songwriter crowd out there.
