You couldn't ask for a better live UK debut than at Morrissey's comeback gig at the Royal Albert Hall, but that's exactly where Dublin's The Thrills got to play.
The California-affected five-piece remind one simultaneously of The Beach Boys and The Polyphonic Spree with this debut single, but hit a shoegazing note with backing tracks Deckchairs and Cigarettes and Your Love Is Like Las Vegas. Fans of Ben Kweller and Mojave 3 alike will enjoy.
Connor Deasey's languid vocals and Ben Carrigan's drums that wash over the listener, while plucks of guitar and banjo illustrate the sonic spaces around the edges. In all, this is a delight.
