"It's just a little pinprick, a-ha-a-ha-a-ha!" If the instrumentation on this latest taster for Tiga's new artist album Sexor sounds a little familiar, you've likely been listening to Scissor Sisters' Comfortably Numb. The artsy Canadian DJ, promoter and producer was the man behind the floor-filling club remix.
Good As Gold is altogether more of a noirish affair. An echo-laden atmosphere, Tiga's double-tracked, deep whispery vocals and the infectious disco beat are all at odds with each other, but create an ambience all of Tiga's making. It's unclear whether one should dance or be mildly apprehensive.
The album version comes backed with an instrumental mix and two remixes - a Morgan Geist Monophonic Mix and Zdar Dub. Unlike previous single You Gonna Want Me, pal Jake Shears is not in evidence this time, but there's enough here to pique interest in Sexor.
