Trapt are making large waves in their homeland at the moment and this track has been sat near the top of the US rock charts for weeks.

Headstrong doesn't really live up to its name, mind. It starts off as orthodoxly as one would expect with hard-hitting drums and staccato power chords. However, instead of building on this platform it settles into a weirdly '80s, atmospheric pop groove, before returning to the riffs for a rocking chorus.

Trapt do have a rock sound of their own and Chris Brown's vocals are melodically well-oiled. Whether the UK is ready to consume such Adult-Oriented Rock fayre is debatable. Mind you, plenty of people were willing to stuff Nickelback's music down their gullets so maybe there's hope for Trapt yet.
