Three young Dublin girls, none of whom have surnames apparently, and all of whom have a tendency to sing while barefoot for some reason, make up Triniti (get it? There's three of them - did you see what they did there?) and they have the mighty marketing power of Universal Classics and Jazz behind them, the record company who made Jamie Cullum the all conquering easy listening colossus that he is today.
Rose On Water is the girls' debut single, and is so lightweight that you fear it would blow away if you blew on it. It's light Irish folk, by which I mean there's some kind of pan pipes and the sort of breathless vocal harmonies that do The Corrs no harm at all. The problem is that there's hardly any melody to speak of, and the girls' vocals are so anaemic and anonymous that the song just sinks under the weight of its own monochrome blandness.
The B-side Salve is slightly more successful, going for a more classical bent and bringing to mind the likes of Clannad and Enya. It's still pretty dreadful though, and if you really fancy buying a present for someone you dislike, you could do worse than a ticket to see them supporting G4 on their upcoming tour - now there's a pairing to strike despair into anyone's heart.
