The name Tunde might not mean a great deal to you, but listen to the first few seconds of this new single and the voice most certainly will. As half of the Lighthouse Family his silky tones were a big reason why they sold over ten million records in their seven-year career.
The singer may have left long-time partner Paul Tucker but you wouldn't have known it from listening to this, the first single from his forthcoming debut solo album, the imaginatively titled Tunde. With the same smooth voice, themes of love and strings, which were often a feature of Lighthouse songs, it could just as easily be the new Lighthouse Family single.
So, as you would expect, Great Romantic is not difficult listening and is a song that washes over you like a summer breeze. Although why Mr Baiyewu chose a drum machine on the track and the reason for its sudden end are questions only he can answer.
