If ever a record deserved its title, this is it. Martin Wheeler, the man behind Vector Lovers, is a self confessed computer nerd who happens to have hit on a great method of producing intricate electronic music that, despite its origins, seems to have a soul.

The self-titled album of last year was widely accepted, and this new EP offers further proof of Wheeler’s way with his technology. Shards of melody whiz by, occasionally sounding like extended text messages, and although the ideas get bounced around like ping pong balls in fourth track Empty Buildings, Falling Rain, there’s plenty to latch on to.

Wheeler has proved himself an important part of the Soma roster of talent, and aficionados of electronic bleeps and blips should not hesitate.
