2006's album, To Find Me Gone, cemented Vetiver main man Andy Cabic's status as one of the most accomplished singer-songwriters to emerge from America's sprawling incestuous alt-folk scene. While we wait for a new album, Cabic and Tom Monahan, working under the name Neighbors, remix two of that album's tracks, stripping away the songs to their bare bones and rebuilding them anew.

Cabic's dreamy keening vocals on You May be Blue eddy around in a melee of sinister swirling synths and electronic beats. Far removed from the original, the track is at once beautiful and disturbing, the lurching synthesisers engendering an unease akin to being aboard a boat on a swelling sea.

The remix of Been so Long is less successful, recalling late nineties atmospheric dance acts such as 808 State, and the faux bongos might have been beamed in from a Café Del Mar album, but this indulgent anachronism can be forgiven for the beauty of the lead track.
