Many of us are living for the weekend, as Hard-Fi so rightly pointed out. If you are quite happy tapping away on your keyboards at work and enjoying water cooler moments then this little ditty may not be for you.

The rest of us who quite enjoy getting royally wasted and enjoying our time away from work should at least find something in this debut release from White Light Parade. Admittedly there's nothing here you won't find in the likes of bands such as Kaiser Chiefs, The Twang and Hard-Fi but that doesn't take much away from the song. So what you have here is your classic indie-rock tune, big open chords followed by an anthemic chorus. Of course we all identify with the lyrics, seeing as they're all about working to earn enough to get loaded at the weekend, so it's not going too far to say that this will soon be adopted by many a student disco to pack the dance floor when all else fails.

If the whole thing seems a little generic at the moment, then the band just about get away with it by playing the whole thing with such rampant enthusiasm. If they can just find their own voice they could well be going places.
