If you found yourself bored and surfing the channels a few weeks ago, you may have caught sight of a programme on ITV2 called The Passions Of Girls Aloud in which various members of the girl band attempt to do something they've never done before (yes, insert joke here...).
The beleaguered Mrs Cole's dream was to be a 'street dancer' and had the chance to appear in Black Eyed Peas' mainman Will.i.am's forthcoming video and strut her stuff. And would you believe it - she won. That cameo appearance in the video has now turned into a full co-credit for Cheryl, even though all she seems to do is warble "you're a heartbreaker" in the background.
Basically, if you've heard any Black Eyed Peas song, you'll know what to expect - radio-friendly pop/soul which sounds pleasant enough in the background but is ultimately a bit of forgettable fluff. The most shocking moment of the whole song is where Will suddenly utters the 'f' word halfway through, which sits a bit jarringly with the comfy, cosy nature of the song.
Cheryl's contribution remains pretty minimal, and Girls Aloud could perform a more exciting song than this one in their sleep. Of course, it would be ultra-cynical to suggest that the reason for Cheryl's co-credit is because the song's lyrics concern a lothario with a wandering eye who's broken his loved one's heart. So we won't...
