This double-A-side from Pop Idol Will Young is ostensibly released with the BBC's Children In Need appeal in mind - an added incentive for Will's legions of admirers to rush out and propel this to the top of the chart.
You and I is one of the highlights of Will's album, a laid-back, woozy track which would nevertheless have benefited from an older set of vocal chords to offer it the depth he so clearly wants to give it. But fans will still lap it up, of course.
Don't Let Me Down, meanwhile, is a new track that doesn't appear on the album. It takes Will closer than ever to setting up residence in Radio 2 territory. One for charitable donors and Pop Idol completists, then.
